2020-2024 Strategic Plan
The Common Council is embarking on a strategic planning process to guide their decisions from now until 2024. This is an important time in our community’s history to ensure decisions being made reflect the needs of our community members.
Community Workshop Group: Complete the application to be considered to be a member of the Community Workshop Group. The Community Workshop Group will meet once virtually via Zoom to discuss the strengths of Milton and major issues and challenges facing the community. This meeting is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, August 6, at 6 p.m.
High School Student Focus Group: Complete the application to be considered to be a member of the High School Student Focus Group. The goal is to have three students from each class at the high school. The focus group will meet once virtually via Zoom to discuss the strengths of Milton and major issues and challenges facing the community. This meeting is tentatively scheduled for Monday, August 10, at 10:30 a.m.
Community Survey: Please take some time to complete the Community Survey to help inform decisions made for the strategic plan. We value your input during this process.
Strategic Plan Development
Mission, Vision, Values - To be developed by the Common Council and City Leadership Team. First meeting on July 21, 2020, and final document to be presented to the Common Council for approval on August 4, 2020.
Strengths and Major Issues / Challenges - The Milton community will be involved in determining the strengths and major issues and challenges facing our community. We plan to hold a Community Workshop Group (application link above), High School Student Focus Group (application link above), and a City of Milton Employee Focus Group.
Goals, Objectives, Strategies, & Actions - Based on all of the input from our community members, the Common Council and City Leadership Team will work together to develop goals, objectives, strategies, and actions to include in the final strategic plan document.
Final Document - The final strategic plan document will be presented to the community and approved by the Common Council.
